Milly
While studying at New York's Fashion Institute
of Technology, Michelle Smith found a part-time job with Hermes. After
graduation, Michelle boldly wrote a letter to the president of Hermes,
requesting an internship in France. To her surprise, her request was
granted and Michelle became the first American employee sent to intern
in Paris by the legendary luxury goods house. While in Paris, Michelle
continued her studies at the design school ESMOD. Her drive and talent
landed her breakthrough internships at Louis Vuitton, Torrente, and
Christian Dior Haute Couture, where she worked in the grand salon on
the Avenue Montaigne. Three years later, she left for New York, intent
on setting up her own design business. Milly was launched in 2001.
Milly is for the glamour girl who likes to look pretty, cheeky, sexy
and fun. The collection merges vintage couture fabrics with feminine,
modern silhouettes, always with a twist of humor.
